Visit to Burghley House Walled Garden

Updated: Apr 23, 2018

Joe Whitehead, the new Head Gardener at Burghley house, recently invited several members of SCOG to advise about the care of fruit trees in the walled garden of Burghley House. This 13 acre walled garden has recently been repaired and planted with about 100 fan and espalier trained fruit trees. We have now arranged for a visit to the walled garden by SCOG on Wednesday August 15th. So let us know if you would like to join us.

Here is a brief description of the restoration of the walled kitchen garden from the 2017 Annual report of the Burghley House Preservation Trust.
